An exquisite antique Scottish brooch from the mid Victorian era modelled in silver with a large Celtic cross in the centre. The front is set with natural agates which display a myriad of earthy colours and patterns that have been expertly cut to fit the brooches unique design.
Scottish jewellery grew in popularity in the mid- 1800s as Queen Victoria’s frequent trips to her Scottish Castle Balmoral saw her return with Scottish souvenirs and jewellery which influenced the trend in Britain.
It’s in excellent condition and fitted with a pin and safety chain on the back.
